2011 RCI Georgia Family Caregiver of the Year

Congratulations to Ms. Genevieve Embury of Waycross, Georgia, 2011 recipient of the
Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregiving (RCI) Georgia Family Caregiver of the Year Award.

This award recognizes significant accomplishments as a caregiver and acknowledges the resourcefulness and compassion demonstrated by a caregiver in performing this care.

The Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregiving in coordination with Georgia CARE-NETS initiated the very prestigious Georgia Caregiver of the Year Awards in 2007. The awards were created to emphasize the importance of caregiving and to focus public attention on the contributions of caregivers throughout the state.

Each year, the Georgia CARE-NETs select regional winners from the three award categories of Family Caregiver, Para-Professional Caregiver, and Volunteer Caregiver. The CNs subsequently notify RCI of their regional winners and from that list, RCI makes the Georgia state selections. This is a very competitive process. The regional winners have all demonstrated exemplary skills and compassion in their areas of caregiving. Thus, you should be very proud of your accomplishments.

Recipients of the Georgia Caregiver of the Year Awards are recognized by Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter at RCI’s Annual Awards Banquet. During this ceremony, Mrs. Carter presents winners with a special Certificate of Accomplishment, a gilded rose and a check for $1,000.
