"In May 2011, the U.S. Census Bureau released a 2010 Census brief that shows the nation’s population is growing older. The 45-to-64-year-old age group, the Baby Boomer Generation, grew 31.5% to 81.5 million from 2000 to 2010. As the population continues to shift, the long-term care industry is redefining its goals and priorities based on a new generation of older adults, most notably by supporting a significant shift away from nursing home use and toward home health care."
