Aging Program Coordinator Job Opening

Southern Georgia Regional Commission is accepting applications for the position of Program Coordinator in the aging department.  Position will plan and coordinate programs and services for older adults and persons with disabilities. Duties include development of the Area Agency on Aging’s (AAA’s) annual plan, making public presentations, assisting with the AAA’s Request for Proposal process, oversight of various aging programs, provision of technical assistance to contractors, coordination and facilitation of meetings, oversight of the AAA’s marketing and outreach efforts, oversight of volunteers and interns, completion of state required reports, and creation and dissemination of a variety of documents including press releases and corrective actions plans.  Excellent grammar, spelling, and composition skills are essential.  Public speaking skills required.  Knowledge of aging services and programs helpful.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs.  Must have two years work experience and possess a four-year college degree in healthcare management, gerontology, public administration, or a related field. Valid driver’s license, MVR, background check, and drug test required. Transportation Planning Technician(Intern)

The Southern Georgia Regional Commission is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Regional Transportation Planning Technician (Intern). This position involves interaction with local governments throughout an 18-county region. The SGRC is a regional planning and intergovernmental coordination agency providing services in transportation, environmental, and local community planning; workforce training; aging services; GIS mapping; IT support services; small business loans; and community and economic development. The Southern Georgia Regional Commission is seeking a professional planner to lead the environmental planning and water quality programs of the 18-county region. Duties include development of plans related to environmental concerns for the region, including water quality best management practices for agriculture, municipal, commercial and industrial use.  Helps source and secure funding from regional, state and federal sources.  Performs budget analysis and time allocation associated with grant opportunities. Southern Georgia Regional Commission is accepting applications for the position of Aging and Disability Resource Assistant in the aging department.  Duties include processing and distributing referrals received via fax or email; maintenance, expansion, and updating of a database of resources for older adults and persons with disabilities; organization of a large quarterly meeting of Medicaid providers; and marketing tasks.  Must be able to cultivate and maintain good working relationships with medical and social service professionals.  Good grammar, spelling, and composition skills required.  Must be skilled in the use of computers, word processing, and database software.  Medical or marketing related experience is a plus.  Must possess at least one year of post-HS education and two years of work experience.  Additional related w/e may substitute for post-HS education.  Valid driver’s license, MVR, background check, and drug test required.
