Project Coordinator - Workforce Development

The Southern Georgia Regional Commission is accepting applications for the position of Project Coordinator (PC) in the Workforce Development Division.  The PC will be responsible for the development and launch of the Healthcare Sector Partnership for the Southern Georgia Region.  Candidate will work with employers, economic development, education, government and other relevant partners to establish stakeholder groups that work to meet the human capital needs of the targeted industry sector.  Must possess at a minimum a Bachelor's Degree in a related occupational field OR three (3) or more years of experience in Workforce and/or Economic Development.  Superior oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, including professionalism and comfort in presenting to large groups.  Proficiency in MS Office Suite.  Salary range of $32,500 to $35,900 per year DOE.  Position may be based out of  the Waycross or Valdosta. office (or a combination of both)  This is a 2 year grant funded position.  Deadline for receipt of application and resume is 4:00 pm on August 23, 2017.  EOE 60+.  Hours are M-F 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  Benefits include sick and vacation leave, 10 paid holidays, retirement plan and health insurance.  Click here for a complete job description

Information Technology Support Specialist I

The Southern Georgia Regional Commission is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Information Technology Support Specialist I This challenging position involves interaction with local governments and officials throughout an 18 county region in southern Georgia. Position responsibilities include the efficient installation, troubleshooting, repair and configuration of desktop computers, servers and other IT assets.

The successful candidate will possess a working knowledge of many of the following: Active Directory, Exchange Server, DNS, Terminal Services, Windows 7/8/10, Windows Server 2008/2012/2016, Routers, Switches, IPv4, IPv6, Wireless Controllers, and Cisco firewalls, Symantec Endpoint, Data Center Support, Monitoring and Disaster Recovery. The successful candidate will possess professional interpersonal skills, an ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions, and have good oral communication skills. Infrequently, flexible and extended work times may be necessary.

This is a full time position.  This position requires 37.5 hours per week availability.
