Transportation & Environmental Planning

The Southern Georgia Regional Commission Transportation Department carries out various short- and long-range transportation planning activities throughout the region including planning for roads, bridges, bicycles, sidewalks, and public transportation. The Transportation Department also provides more than 400 daily transportation trips for clients of various human service providers.

Environmental Planning

The Environmental Planning Program at the SGRC was initialed in 2002. This program grew from the interaction of engaging the communities in activities that not only brought awareness to our natural environment, but the impacts of our built environment. Through education outreach actitivities, we promote actitivities that both protect and promote our natural resources.
